THE FIRST DRIVERS TO OPTIMISE POI FOR STRAIGHTER MISS-HITS
Traditionally, MOI has been the primary focus area for manufacturers aiming to boost club stability and forgiveness. Cobra is pioneering the use of POI, a lesser-known metric that measures club rotation across three axes (MOI,Y (horizontal), MOI,X (vertical), and MOI,Z (toe up or down)) during off-centre strikes. The OPTM drivers are the first to optimise both MOI and POI through strategic weight distribution and shaping, creating an advanced driver that considerably reduces gear effect, yielding up to 23% tighter dispersion for longer and straighter shots even when contact is off-centre.
LS IMPROVEMENTS VS LAST GEN
By fine-tuning POI within a compact head shape, the OPTM LS model surpasses the previous generation DS-ADAPT LS in both forgiveness and accuracy. Utilising supercomputing and artificial intelligence (A.I.) methodologies, Cobra's engineers have formulated a design synergy that enhances speed and accuracy through reduced POI. This innovation leads to a marked decline in side spin on off-centre hits, resulting in straighter and more precise drives that consistently align closer to the intended target line.
RESHAPED FOR FORGIVENESS
To optimise both MOI and POI, mass distribution is strategically more symmetrical around the centre of gravity and across the three key axes, consolidated around the centre of gravity (CG) to lessen the club's diagonal resistance to rotation. Through A.I. driven simulation tools, Cobra's engineers have examined millions of impact locations, acquiring profound insights into gear effect and optimal metal/mass placement as well as movable weights for each model.
FUTUREFIT33 ADJUSTABLE HOSEL
The innovative FutureFit33™ system includes 33 unique loft and lie settings designed to optimise ball flight, minimise mishits, and maximise distance. The loft and lie can be adjusted by +/- 2 degrees in any direction, providing ultimate fitting customization, while the advanced SMARTPAD® design ensures the face angle remains square regardless of the setting.
ADJUSTABLE WEIGHTING
The OPTM LS driver incorporates a sophisticated descending weight system featuring three adjustable weights (11g, 7g, 3g) that can be placed in the back (neutral flight), heel (draw-biased flight), or toe (fade-biased flight) positions to finely tune trajectory control. Additionally, the H.O.T. FACE TECHNOLOGY employs a forged face insert that enhances face flex, promoting increased distance and ball speeds on strikes around the centre of the face.
