THE FIRST DRIVERS TO OPTIMISE POI FOR STRAIGHTER MISS-HITS
Traditionally, golf companies have focused primarily on MOI to optimise club stability and forgiveness. However, Cobra pioneers the introduction of POI, a lesser-known measurement that accounts for club rotation across all three axes: MOI Y (horizontal), MOI X (vertical), and MOI Z (toe up or down). The OPTM drivers uniquely optimise both MOI and POI through strategic weight placement and shaping. This remarkable design significantly reduces gear effect, thereby delivering a dispersion improvement of up to 23%, resulting in longer and straighter off-centre shots.
THE FIRST 13K DRIVER
By combining its highest MOI driver with lower POI, Cobra has created the industry's first 13K driver, the most stable option in golf. The 13K MOI value is achieved by merging the 10K MOI values across the two horizontal (MOIyy) and vertical (MOIxx) axes with the third diagonal axis (MOIzz). Using advanced supercomputing and AI methods, Cobra's engineers have successfully established a design harmony that maximises MOI and substantially reduces POI by over 50%. The outcome is a significant reduction in side spin during off-centre hits, resulting in straighter and more accurate drives that consistently align closer to the target line. In tests against the DS-ADAPT MAX-K, the OPTM MAX-K achieved an impressive 0.5 shot gain and produced 82% more playable drives per round.
RESHAPED FOR FORGIVENESS
To optimise both MOI and POI, mass is symmetrically distributed around the centre of gravity and across the three critical axes, while also tightening around the CG to minimise the club's diagonal resistance to rotation. By employing AI-powered simulation tools, Cobra engineers have examined millions of impact locations to develop an expert understanding of gear effect and determine the optimal positioning of metal and mass, as well as adjustable weights in each club model.
FUTUREFIT33 ADJUSTABLE HOSEL
The FutureFit33™ system features 33 unique loft and lie settings designed to optimise ball flight, minimise mishits, and maximise distance. Both loft and lie angles can be adjusted by +/– 2 degrees in any direction, allowing for ultimate fine-tuning and fitting customisation. Additionally, the innovative SMARTPAD® design ensures that the face angle remains square regardless of the selected setting.
MOI-TUNED WEIGHTING
The OPTM MAX-K driver incorporates a fixed back weight (11g) strategically positioned to keep the CG low and towards the back, thereby maximising MOI and club stability.
H.O.T. FACE TECHNOLOGY
Utilising a forged face insert equipped with H.O.T. Face technology, this driver delivers improved face flex, allowing for enhanced distance and ball speeds around the centre of the face.
