The OPTM MAX-D model stands out as the premier fairway finder, specifically designed with a left-bias to assist players who struggle with a slice. Through the thoughtful placement of weight, the centre of gravity (CG) has been strategically relocated closer to the hosel, facilitating easier ball launch and quicker clubface squaring, resulting in a leftward ball flight.
THE FIRST DRIVERS TO OPTIMISE POI FOR STRAIGHTER MISS-HITS
Traditionally, manufacturers have primarily focused on the moment of inertia (MOI) as the key metric for maximising club stability and forgiveness. However, Cobra is pioneering the discussion around a lesser-known measurement known as point of impact (POI), which takes into consideration the club’s rotation across all three axes (MOI,Y (horizontal), MOI,X (vertical), and MOI,Z (toe up or down)) during off-centre strikes. The OPTM drivers represent a breakthrough in optimising both MOI and POI via strategic weight placement and shaping, which significantly reduces gear effect, delivering up to 23% tighter dispersion for longer and straighter off-centre shots.
OWN THE FAIRWAY WITH IMPROVED DRAW-BIAS PERFORMANCE
Cobra has evolved its most draw-biased driver by integrating a heel-biased CG and a lower POI, resulting in the most stable draw-biased driver to date. By achieving an ideal balance of high MOI, low POI, and heel-biased CG positioning, the OPTM MAX-D Driver offers enhanced forgiveness and accuracy, while maximising draw bias for effective slice correction. Its low to mid spin design and unparalleled stability instil the confidence needed to optimise distance and minimise misses.
RESHAPED FOR FORGIVENESS
The distribution of mass around the centre of gravity and across the three key axes has been reconfigured to optimise both MOI and POI. This configuration minimises the club's diagonal resistance to rotation. By employing A.I.-driven simulation techniques, Cobra engineers have meticulously analysed millions of impact locations, gaining deep insights into gear effect and establishing optimal positioning for the metal/mass and movable weights in each model.
FUTUREFIT33 ADJUSTABLE HOSEL
The FutureFit33™ system features an impressive array of 33 distinct loft and lie settings, crafted to refine your ball flight, reduce your misses, and maximise distance. Loft and lie can be adjusted by +/- 2 degrees in any direction, permitting precise fitting customisation. Additionally, the innovative SMARTPAD® design guarantees that the face angle remains square, irrespective of the chosen setting.
DRAW-BIAS TUNED WEIGHTING
The OPTM MAX-D driver incorporates a fixed heel weight (11g), enabling the CG to be positioned closer to the hosel. This adjustment helps to facilitate easier elevation of the ball and aids in closing the clubface for a draw-biased ball flight.
H.O.T. FACE TECHNOLOGY
A forged face insert, equipped with H.O.T. Face technology, enhances face flex, resulting in improved distance and ball speeds both on and around the centre of the face.
