By strategically placing weight, the centre of gravity (CG) is positioned closer to the hosel, enabling easier launch of the ball and quicker squaring of the clubface, resulting in a more controlled leftward ball flight.
THE FIRST DRIVERS TO OPTIMISE POI FOR STRAIGHTER MISS-HITS
Traditionally, the focus on the moment of inertia (MOI) has guided manufacturers in enhancing club stability and forgiveness. However, Cobra is pioneering the concept of point of inertia (POI), which measures club rotation across three axes: MOI,Y (horizontal), MOI,X (vertical), and MOI,Z (toe up or down) that occurs during off-centre hits. The OPTM drivers are the first to balance both MOI and POI through precise weight placement and shaping, resulting in an exceptional driver that significantly reduces gear effect, offering up to a 23% tighter dispersion for longer and straighter off-centre shots.
OWN THE FAIRWAY WITH IMPROVED DRAW-BIAS PERFORMANCE
Cobra has transformed its most draw-biased driver by incorporating a heel-biased CG and lowering the POI to achieve maximum stability. By attaining an ideal design fusion of high MOI, low POI, and heel-biased CG positioning, the OPTM MAX-D Driver provides enhanced forgiveness and improved precision through maximum draw bias for slice correction. Its low-mid spin design, coupled with unparalleled stability, instills confidence to optimise distance and mitigate mishits.
RESHAPED FOR FORGIVENESS
To optimise both MOI and POI, mass is symmetrically distributed around the centre of gravity and across the three pivotal axes, tightening the area around the CG to diminish the club's diagonal resistance to rotation. Utilizing A.I. driven simulations, Cobra engineers have meticulously analysed millions of impact points to refine their understanding of gear effect and determine the ideal placement for metals/masses, along with movable weights for each model.

FutureFit33™ boasts 33 unique loft and lie settings designed to perfect your ball flight, reduce your misses, and extend your distance. The loft and lie can be adjusted by +/- 2 degrees in any direction, offering extensive fitting customisation, while the innovative SMARTPAD® design ensures the face angle remains square, irrespective of the setting.
DRAW-BIAS TUNED WEIGHTING
The OPTM MAX-D driver is equipped with a fixed heel weight (11g) that positions the CG closer to the hosel, facilitating easier launches and a more closed clubface for a draw-biased ball flight.
H.O.T. FACE TECHNOLOGY
A forged face insert featuring H.O.T. Face technology provides enhanced face flex, resulting in improved distance and ball speeds across and around the centre of the face.
