14 Year-old Shoots Under Par at Opening Round of LPGA’s ANA Inspiration

14-year-old Lucy Li started off this year’s ANA Inspiration on a pretty positive note. Not only was the golf prodigy playing alongside her idol Michelle Wie but she also managed to score a one-under-par 71 in her first round.

The LPGA’s first major of the season got underway yesterday. Despite high winds wreaking havoc at the end of yesterday and into Friday’s rounds, Li is taking her second major experience in stride. The American previously made headlines when she qualified for the U.S. Women’s Open in 2014 aged just 11! Making her the youngest-ever to golfer to do so.

Check her out back then doing a press conference while eating an ice cream!

Li qualified for her second major appearance this week in California after winning this year’s ANA Junior event. Wie, who knows a thing or two about starting out young seemed impressed with her playing partner. Telling reporters yesterday, “She carries herself very well, extremely mature.” Adding, “She played great.”
