A new change to the PGA Tour’s Player Appearance guidelines was announced on Monday, just in time for the WGC – Mexico Championship and the Puerto Rico Open. Players on Tour will now be allowed to wear shorts during all practice and pro-am rounds.
The news seems to be a welcomed surprise to many Tour players who have voiced their desire in the past to show a little more leg at tournaments. Speaking to fans on Facebook Live last year, 14-time major winner Tiger Woods stated, “I would love it [to wear shorts]. We play in some of the hottest climates on the planet. We usually travel with the sun, and a lot of our events are played in the summer.”
So expect to see a lot more of this in the coming months:
