Gary Woodland Secures First Major Victory at Pebble Beach

American golfer Gary Woodland celebrated Father’s Day in style, winning the 119th U.S. Open and denying Brooks Koepka a third consecutive win at the major.

The 35-year-old secured his fourth PGA Tour title and his first major win after a brilliant performance at Pebble Beach. Starting the final round, 1-stroke ahead of Justin Rose, Woodland was the picture of focus and determination as he made his way around 18 holes. Blocking out the distractions around him, including Koepka birding four of the first five holes.

“I think from a mental standpoint I was as good as I’ve ever been,” Woodland said after his win. Adding, “I never let myself get ahead of myself. I never thought about what would happen if I won, what comes with it. I wanted to execute every shot. I wanted to stay in the moment. I wanted to stay within myself.”

In January Woodland signed with Wilson and is using the brand’s irons. He also is a Puma apparel staffer and could be seen sporting the new IGNITE Pwradapt Leather Footwear. Take a look below to see Woodland’s full winning bag.
