'I Hit It Better On The Range' with Mark Crossfield

The most common anecdotes you hear in golf “I always hit it so great on the range but not on the course”, Mark Crossfield investigates.

One of the key attributes to golfers thinking they are hitting so well on the range is that on miss hit swings the club can bounce off the mat and still strike the ball in a sweet manner. When you are out on the course the world is not perfectly level will the ball and so this add an additional consideration when you are hitting your shots.

There is also the different lies you can get on the course, whilst on the range you will always have a perfect lie, but when out on the course the grass could be long, short, thick or thin, these are all valid contributing factors to difference in ball striking.
