Jim Furyk Ends Nearly 5-Year Winless Streak

Jim Furyk Ends Nearly 5-Year Winless Streak
It’s been almost half a decade since Jim Furyk enjoyed victory on the PGA Tour, but that all changed with his win on Sunday at the RBC Heritage.

Furyk was able to hold his nerve during a playoff with Kevin Kisner to secure his first title since 2010 at the Harbour Town Golf Links.  Marking the 44-year-old’s 17th career win on Tour.

A consistent top-10 tournament finisher, Furyk has often struggled with holding onto a lead.  Many times he’s a definitive presence on the final day but always just misses out to the other guy.

Rewind to yesterday and the veteran golfer had his eye on the prize.  After sinking an incredible putt on the 17th it was pretty obvious just how much Furyk wanted this win.

“It’s been a little over four and a half [years], to be exact,” Furyk told PGAtour.com afterwards.  “And I think that dropping that putt and getting excited on 17, there was a lot of pent-up frustration.”

With the pent-up frustration finally released, Furyk will surely be hoping he can channel Sunday’s finish as he moves ahead this season.
