Rory McIlroy Joins the TaylorMade FaMily

It was announced yesterday that world number two Rory McIlroy has signed a long-term equipment and golf ball deal with TaylorMade Golf, reportedly worth $100 million.

The 28-year-old has been a free agent since Nike announced last summer it was pulling out of the golf equipment business. Since then McIlroy has tried and tested numerous options including the Callaway GBB Epic Sub Zero Driver at his first appearance of 2017, the BMW South African Open. But yesterday’s announcement confirms the Northern Irishman is finally settled on what gear will best suit his game moving forward.

“I’ve been around golf long enough and seen everything,” the four-time major champion told PGATOUR.COM this week. Adding, “but I’ve never been this excited about equipment as right now, which I think is big to say.”

Check out the all-new gear McIlroy will be sporting this week at The Players Championship.
