TaylorMade’s New M2 D-Type Driver Perfectly Engineered for the Slicer

by Maura Hutchinson

The TaylorMade M2 D-Type Driver is here and it’s ready to take on those pesky slices. Specifically engineered for golfers with a slice who have a difficult time hitting a draw.

TaylorMade’s next generation M2 Drivers are crushing the competition and winning big on both the PGA and European Tours. Just ask Sergio Garcia who used the club to win his first major at last month’s Masters Tournament. Featuring the brand’s second generation reengineered Speed Pocket, the driver is deeper and three-times more active than the previous M2 model. Giving golfers incredible face flex and forgiveness across the whole of the face, leading to high launch with low spin for extreme distance gains.

The “D” in the M2 D-Type Driver stands for “draw.” With a few crucial tweaks the TaylorMade team has used the incredible technology already found in the new M2 Drivers and sought to address a problem that affects many of its customers – the dreaded slice! By placing the weight of the head more in the heel, making the club 1-degree closed and 1-degree more upright, the 2017 M2 D-Type Driver will go less right and promote a draw for those players who need it.

With the D-Type Driver TaylorMade has really gone to great lengths to ensure the club not only performs the way it says it will, but will also look good and appeal to the intended market. Many golfers tend to stay away from closed drivers because they don’t like the look of the club at address. The TM engineers worked tirelessly to make this a non-issue. Redesigning the top of the D-Type head to make it appear that it sits square at address. Check out the brand’s roundtable discussion below to learn more.

The TaylorMade 2017 M2 D-Type Drivers are available for men and ladies now at GolfOnline. Featuring all the incredible innovations seen in the new M2 Drivers, the D-Type also boasts an exclusive lighter weight shaft option to further promote a draw.
