Phil Mickelson and

American Phil Mickelson picked up his 43rd career win on Sunday, claiming the WGC-Mexico Championship title after a playoff with world number two Justin Thomas. The win marks Mickelson’s third WGC title and his first win since the 2013 Open Championship.
At 47 years of age the Callaway player is the oldest golfer to win a WGC event but states he isn’t finished winning yet.
“I believe that more is to come, and I feel like I’m starting to play some of my best golf,” Mickelson told reporters on Sunday. Adding, “To culminate here in Mexico City with a World Golf Championship victory is very exciting to me beyond words because it just validates the hard work I put in and the struggle for the last few years to finally get my game back.”

Over on the LPGA Tour, Michelle Wie dug deep on Sunday to overcome a five-shot deficit to claim the HSBC Women’s World Championship. The 28-year-old’s first win first win since the 2014 U.S. Women’s Open.
Wie played a brilliant bogey-free final round on Sunday to move herself into contention. But it was her final putt that really gave the tournament a dramatic ending as the Callaway player sank a 35-foot putt to secure her fifth LPGA Tour title.
“I think that has to be the best putt of my career so far,” said Wie.
