SAW-MILLED GROOVES
MG5 wedges are pioneers within the MG family, featuring aggressive saw-milled grooves. This innovative milled process enables TaylorMade’s designers to nearly reach the legal limits of groove geometry. With reengineered ultra-tight tolerances, steeper walls, and sharper radii, these grooves significantly enhance spin generation compared to earlier MG versions.
SPIN RETENTION IN WET CONDITIONS
Like its predecessors, the MG5 wedges leverage a RAW face finish and the newly developed continuous Spin Tread Technology to ensure golfers retain spin and control during wet conditions. These continuous Spin Treads behave similarly to all-weather tyres, directing water away from the face while increasing friction upon impact. With the seamless integration of Spin Tread Technology and saw-milled grooves, the MG5 achieves a remarkable 13% increase in spin retention compared to the MG4 in wet conditions. This technology also ensures a more consistent launch angle in both wet and dry scenarios.
