Traditionally, companies have mainly concentrated on Moment of Inertia (MOI) to enhance club stability and forgiveness. However, Cobra has pioneered the introduction of Point of Impact (POI), a lesser-known measurement that considers club rotation across three axes (MOI,Y (horizontal), MOI,X (vertical), and MOI,Z (toe up or down)) during off-centre hits. The OPTM drivers are the first to effectively optimise both MOI and POI through calculated weight positioning and shaping to create an exceptional driver—significantly reducing gear effect and providing up to 23% tighter dispersion for longer and straighter off-centre shots.
OWN THE FAIRWAY WITH IMPROVED DRAW-BIAS PERFORMANCE
Cobra has upgraded its most draw-biased driver by incorporating a heel-biased CG and lower POI, resulting in the most stable and draw-biased driver available. This perfect design harmony of high MOI, low POI, and heel-biased CG positioning allows the OPTM MAX-D Driver to deliver enhanced forgiveness and accuracy, optimising draw bias for effective slice correction. Its low to mid-spin design and unparalleled stability instil confidence to maximise distance and eliminate misses.
RESHAPED FOR FORGIVENESS
To enhance both MOI and POI, the mass has been symmetrically distributed around the centre of gravity and across the three crucial axes, while tightening around the CG to minimise the club’s diagonal resistance to rotation. Utilising A.I. driven simulation tools, Cobra engineers have examined millions of impact locations, gaining expert insights into gear effect and determining optimal positioning for metal/mass and moveable weights in each model.
FUTUREFIT33 ADJUSTABLE HOSEL
The FutureFit33™ system boasts 33 unique loft and lie settings, allowing for the perfect optimisation of your ball flight, minimisation of misses, and maximisation of distance. Loft and lie can be adjusted by +/- 2 degrees in either direction, making for ultimate custom fitting. The innovative SMARTPAD® design ensures that the face angle remains square regardless of the set adjustments.
DRAW-BIAS TUNED WEIGHTING
The OPTM MAX-D driver is equipped with a fixed heel weight (11g), which shifts the CG closer to the hosel, promoting an easier launch and facilitating the closing of the clubface to produce a draw-biased ball flight.
H.O.T. FACE TECHNOLOGY
A forged face insert featuring H.O.T. Face technology delivers enhanced face flex for greater distance and ball speeds across the face, particularly around the sweet spot.
