Odyssey has introduced the Zero Torque Forward.
Odyssey’s innovative S2S TRI-HOT putters signal a groundbreaking advancement in the “Zero Torque” category. Through advanced multi-material construction, we have successfully repositioned the centre of gravity (CG) in these putters, moving it far enough forward to allow the shaft to enter the head at the topline. This innovative design effectively removes the necessity for shaft lean, thereby addressing a significant obstacle for users of this style of putter.
Forward CG and Hosel Position
By relocating the CG forward, we have been able to set the hosel spud on the topline, granting a position that is notably closer to the face compared to standard “Zero Torque” putters. This arrangement facilitates a more natural, intuitive, and comfortable setup position for golfers.
Multi-Material Construction
Through the thoughtful integration of Aluminium, Steel, and over 140 grams of tungsten, we have engineered a “Zero Torque” putter with over 80% of its weight placed under the topline. This design supports our forward CG and hosel position, optimising overall performance.
Ai-DUAL Insert
Utilising advanced Artificial Intelligence, the dual-layer urethane insert features a soft outer layer coupled with a firm inner layer. This design not only delivers consistent ball speed across the face but also promotes enhanced forward roll both up and down the face, providing exceptional feel.
New FRD Groove
The newly introduced Forward Roll Design Groove is deeper and more pronounced, boasting a 19° slope. This innovative groove works in concert with the dual-layer design to significantly improve forward roll across the face.
New Pistol Plus Grip
After conducting surveys on the most popular grips used on Tours worldwide, we identified common aspects and areas for improvement. The result is a mid-sized pistol grip featuring crisp edges, which comfortably fits in the hands and enhances awareness of the putter face throughout the stroke.
Black SL 120 Shaft
Designed specifically for tour performance, this new black PVD shaft is heavier and stiffer than our SL 90, making it an ideal choice for this type of putter.
