The Stewart Golf R1 Push Trolley is pushing the boundaries of push trolleys into unmarked territory and once you see the video and see how good the Stewart Golf R1 Push Trolley you will immediately add one to your basket.
Stewart Golf have designed the R1 using the tried and tested rack and pinion system, this is the first time it has been used on a golf trolley. Inside the framework of the R1 Push there is 4 racks and 4 pinions that work simultaneously to make the folding and unfolding process seamless.
The reason that Stewart have used the rack and pinion mechanism is that the usual external moving parts are subject to dirt and dust on the golf course leading to a stiffer sliding mechanism, by using the rack and pinion system everything is internal and even if the gears get debris in the mechanism will still work smoothly.
By putting all these mechanical pieces inside the lightweight robust frame Stewart have improved the overall look of the trolley. The biggest plus is that by moving all the mechanism inside Stewart have made the R1 Push 33% smaller than the Z series trolley.
The Stewart Golf R1 Push Trolley is a premium trolley with standards and specifications that you would expect from market leaders.
Product Features
Rack and Pinion System
The unique rack & pinion system is the basis of the R1 Push. Take a look at our 'how it works' page to see how the combination of 4 racks and 4 pinions make the R1 Push fold so small.
Folded size
The lack of an external mechanism means that the tubes can fold almost against one another. This means that the R1 Push folds a full 33% smaller than the older Z Series model.
Quick Release Front and Back Wheels
If you need to save even more space, all three wheels of the R1 Push are quick release. Rear wheels detach easily, and the front wheel comes off with the lower bag support to leave just the frame to stow.
Bespoke aluminium 6063 T6 extrusions
The R1 Push uses three profiles of tubes, all of which are produced only for Stewart Golf. The distinctive kite shape of the main tubes is driven by the shape of the main rack. Like all good designs, form follows function.
Powder coated frame
Every tube is powder coated to a high specification before the R1 is hand built. This ensures protection from corrosion and also gives UV colour stability.
Dual ball bearings in all wheels
You'll find that the R1 Push feels very light to push. Two bearings in each wheel reduce the rolling resistance to a minimal level, so you can keep your energy for hitting the golf ball.
Maintenance free airless tyres
The last thing you want on the course is a puncture, so the R1 Push has tyres made from a soft foam with a dense outer layer.
Foot brake
We know that some trolleys on the market have a brake with a handle mounted lever, and some use a foot operated brake. We have opted for the latter simply for long term convenience and reliability. Wherever there is a cable, there is also stretch and therefore adjustment required. A simple sprung loaded foot brake is designed to work for a very long time with no adjustment or maintenance (other than the occasional clean).
