Artist’s Installation Puts the “crazy” in Crazy Golf

Artist’s Installation Puts the “crazy” in Crazy Golf
It is an exhibition that has spent most of the summer in Bristol but with its departure date from Arnolfini set for August 26th, Doug Fishbone and Friends: Adventureland Golf is looking towards its next home, at Quad in Derby.  A move that’s creating quite a stir amongst potential new neighbors.

Why, might you ask?  The answer lies in two of the holes and two very infamous leaders of the past.

Imagined by the London-based American artist Doug Fishbone, the concept was to get the country’s preeminent contemporary artists to design their own holes for a thought-provoking and challenging crazy golf course.  But it seems two of the installations featuring models of Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein are causing the most debate on whether this is a suitable day out.

With mesmerizing pieces from Fishbone himself, alongside others, including Jake and Dinos Chapman, David Shrigley, Gary Webb, Brian Griffiths, Jonathan Allen, Pete Fowler, Ian Monroe, Zatorski and Zatorski, Adventure Golf is apparently doing exactly what it set out to, spark debate and draw attention to serious issues through an unlikely medium- golf!

The exhibition will be featured at Quad in Derby from August 31st to September 15th.
