Jordan Spieth Sets another Career Record – Missing 2 Consecutive Cuts
Jordan Spieth has set another career record - just not exactly a good one.  For the second consecutive week the American golfer has failed to make the cut, this time at the Deutsche Bank Championship in Boston.

For the majority of the season, Spieth has been the Tour’s golden boy.  Winning the first two majors of the year and dazzling spectators as well as fellow players with his cool and calm on-course demeanour.  Quickly climbing the ranks to even surpass Rory McIlroy as the number one player in the world this past August.

But in the last couple of weeks the silent confidence of the 22-year-old seems to have dissipated, with even Spieth admitting he’s having some trouble with his mental game.

“I’ve done a lot of things I’ve never done positively this year,” the two time major winner told reporters after shooting a 3-over 73 on Saturday.  “This is something I’ve never done that’s negative.

Spieth added, “Normally my mental game is my strength and it’s something I feel like I have an advantage over other players on.  These past two weeks it was a weakness for me.  And I’ve just got to go back and reassess how to remain positive.”

Last week the Titleist player lost the top-spot in the world rankings to McIlroy.  But it’s not all doom and gloom for the Texas native.  Depending on the final results at TPC Boston today, Spieth still has a chance to reclaim world #1.

But will that help put an end to the golfer’s recent bad spell?  We’ll now have to wait two weeks to see how young Spieth bounces back from this latest record when he next tees off at the BMW Championship September 17th.  A break he believes could be key.

“It’s probably going to be good for me to take at least four days and not touch a club,” said Spieth.

Let’s hope he’s right!
