Lydia Ko to Make Professional Debut at CME Group Titleholders

Lydia Ko to Make Professional Debut at CME Group Titleholders
After announcing her not-so-surprising decision to turn pro at the age of 16, Lydia Ko is gearing up for the first tournament where she can actually collect the earnings after her final round.

Today marks the opening of the LPGA’s season ender, the CME Group Titleholders in Naples, Florida.  While most 16-year-olds would be worried before a life-changing start, Ko remained calm and super sweet during yesterday’s media rounds.

Though the question on everyone’s mind is will the current number five be able to sustain the amateur success she’s experienced now that she’s turned pro?  Only time will tell, but for Ko her professional goals consist of more than just winning.

“One of the big things is I want to be known quite well to the spectators for being very nice and very friendly,” said the New Zealander.  “I obviously want to be the world best golfer in the future, but just I think personality wise is actually quite important to me.”
