Denmark’s Thomas Bjorn off to a great start at the World Cup in Melbourne, Australia. Going into round two in joint first place with Kevin Streelman, Bjorn was able to maintain his composure during a rough start today, securing a first place finish one stroke ahead of Streelman.
“I three-putted the first, so got caught a bit there,” Bjorn told reporters after Friday’s round. “After that I patiently worked my way into the round and played very solidly. Maybe not quite as good as the first round on the front nine, but on the back nine I played awesome.”
The 42-year-old will now be looking ahead and hoping his good form continues throughout the weekend.
While
Adam Scott, who won the Australian PGA and the Australian Masters earlier this month, found himself nine-strokes behind the leader after shooting a 68. The Australian native is currently way down the leaderboard following a disastrous opening round that saw him score a quintuple bogey.
