Dustin Johnson secured his third win of 2016 on Sunday at the BMW Championship. The American is now leading the FedEx Cup standings as well as being the Number Two golfer in the world, just behind
Jason Day. Johnson dazzled at the Crooked Stick Golf Club over the weekend. Carding six birdies and one eagle on the final day to finish at 23-under-par, 3-strokes ahead of England’s
Paul Casey.
“I ran into a buzz saw with Dustin Johnson the last two days,” Casey told reporters yesterday. “I did everything I could. I hold my head up high that it was a great fight.”
Despite changing his putter Johnson was a force to be reckoned with and is now firmly looking ahead to the season-ending Tour Championship in two weeks time.
“I’ve got a lot of confidence in every part of my game, especially all the work I’ve put in on my wedges, which has really paid off this year and this week a new putter that really worked,” said Johnson.

Over on the European Tour it was Joost Luiten’s turn to wow at the KLM Open, with the Dutch player winning his home event for the second time. The 30-year-old produced an incredible bogey-free final round to card a record tying round of 63.
Sunday’s emotional victory makes Luiten the first Dutch player to win his national Open twice. An achievement the golfer was more than pleased with.
“The first one was special but this one is very special,” Luiten told reporters afterwards. “To have the Dutch people behind me all week and to be able to stand here with the trophy in my hands is very special.”
Adding, “These are the kind of days that make it all worth getting out of bed for.”
