Woods Says Elbow Pain is Behind Him

Woods Says Elbow Pain is Behind Him
Tiger Woods is hoping that a month off has been enough rest for the elbow that gave him such issues during the U.S. Open.  Citing time, treatment and therapy as the best course of action for the injury, Woods will now be hoping to recapture a British Open win, seven years after he last lifted the Claret Jug.

On Tuesday, the 37-year-old told a press conference that he was ready to tackle the challenges of Muirfield.  After completing his third practice round of nine holes, Woods looked comfortable and confident.

Our bout of gorgeous weather has left conditions at Muirfield hard and fast.  Something ESPN’s golf analyst Andy North points out is great news for Tiger.

“There’s one thing that you’ve got to remember, that the three British Open Championships that Tiger has won over here have been on very fast, firm golf courses and that’s what we’ve got so far this week.”

Woods hasn’t won a major since 2008.  So does the golfer feel the British Open is in his grasp?

“I feel very good about my game,” said the world number one.  “Even though I haven't won a major in five years I've been in a bunch of them where I've had chances. I just need to keep putting myself there and eventually I'll get some.”
