Arccos 360 Golf Performance Tracking System

The Arccos sensors easily screw in to the hike on the butt of your grip - unless you’ve got a putter with a counter core weight in which case you’ve either got to jury rig something yourself or add your putts in manually. Luckily I have a standard putter grip. Using the sensors is easy once you’ve downloaded the app and paired the sensors (a 10 minute job). Just start the app before you tee off and start your round, put the phone in your front pocket and the sensors will plot your progress around the course shot by shot. Accuracy is excellent and missed shots are not many. If you duff a chip a few feet (??) the sensors will generally ignore the shot played from a short distance away. And sometimes short putts are missed. But you can easily add these in manually either during or after your round. If you want to use your phone as a GPS distance finder too you can do that using the app and it works and is accurate. But I found it a phaff The process of taking your phone out of your pocket, turning on the screen, unlocking the phone, selecting the app and then touching the screen to get your yardages I found tortuous. And then switching the screen off and putting it back in your front pocket before you play your shot of course. But the information you glean from this device is something that I’m really looking forward to. It’s already pointing out my areas of weakness after about 5 rounds and I’m hopeful that this will help me improve this year. The Arccos caddy feature which recommends clubs and strategies for holes based on your previous shots has just opened up (not for tournament play of course). I’ve not used this yet but am interested to see what it comes up with and how it differs from my normal uncaddied game. I think that this is a subscription service once I’ve tried it out for a while - I’m not 100% sure on this. The other features of the app are all free with this version of the sensors - whether the Caddy feature is worth a subscription is difficult to say as: 1. I haven’t used it yet and 2. I don’t know what the subscription price is. Maybe they’ll tell me once I’ve given it a bit of a go ??

This product was fast to set up. The sensors screwed into my club easily and paired with my iPhone quickly. The app works well playing on the course. I have played 4 rounds so far and it has only missed a handful of shots, and those have generally been when I'm out of position and hit short chip outs. The app doesn't need much interaction during the round, it will track it just fine if you leave your phone in your pocket. Although it does have a course map feature you can use so I take my phone out for that. The GPS map of the hole you're playing that you get on the app is OK. I have been using Golfshot prior to purchasing Arccos and I prefer the layout of the GPS info on that app. For example, Golfshot gives you a list of yardages to hazards and you can set up favoured lay up yardages. You can find out distances to hazards etc. on the Arccos app by dragging the circle on the screen around to the various hazards though. I would also recommend going through your round and editing the flag placements on each hole. This will make the statistics generated much more useful. Editing the flag placement is easy, it can be done as you go round or after the round. When it comes to the statistics, the information you get on the app is pretty good. I specifically like how it gives you a handicap for five different areas of the game (driving, approach, bunker play, chipping and putting). This is a great visual representation of the state of your game. Where Arccos really excels though is the analysis you have access to through the player dashboard on their website. Once you've logged into your account there is a lot more analysis than you find on the app. I am impressed with the level of detail and can't wait to start really looking through it all once I have completed another couple of rounds (Arccos recommend a minimum of 5 rounds to build up some sort of accurate picture). I would happily recommend this product.

While I admit I have a predisposition to loving statistics and numbers (as well as golf), this has been a great purchase. The insight it provides into which areas of your game need improvement is fascinating, splitting your "Arccos handicap" into driving, approach, chipping, sand and putting. It doesn't have solutions (of course), but it is a great diagnostic tool for helping you work your way around the course and helping identify which areas of your game to target for improvement. Yes, it's expensive, but I have never regretted this purchase and have now used it for 2 years and 40 rounds. Wouldn't be without it! The shot-tracking is pretty reliable, but can occasionally miss a strike. It's easy to edit from within the app, but you do need to keep an eye on it so that you can quickly amend if anything has gone awry. Happens maybe once or twice per round, so not a big issue for me. Customer service is brilliant, and they'll map previously unmapped courses for you within 1-2 days (normally). Would highly recommend.
