Callaway XR Speed Fairway Wood

Great club , easy to hit . Distance great , very useful on the long par 3s . Also great to hit of the fairway .

Great club off the tee, forgiving and accurate, I struggled off the fairway originally but after some time in the range I'm now hitting it straight and accurate Nice easy club to hit, makes a nice sound when catching it right

It gives additional distance to the senior player compared to the equivolent hybrid

Love the shape and face of this fairway wood and how it sits. Very good Project X Hzrdus T800 shaft for my 80ish mph speed. As a high handicapper, I find this fairway wood forgiving and rather long. Highly recommended

As my age has increased my swing speed has dropped away and I needed to re-think my set up. I started last year with my driver, a new Callaway XR Speed, pro-fitted to 12.5 degrees, which gave me back my height & distance off the tee. An XR Speed Fairway 3 wood quickly followed. This year I decided my long irons would have to go, so no more struggles with 4 or 5 irons, replaced instead by an XR Speed 5 wood, a beautiful club to launch the ball high and long. Acquiring an XR Speed 7 wood was the next obvious step, another great club for height & distance. I want to play golf into my 70s and 80s, and hitting woods (or rescue/hybrid) instead of irons is the only way to go.

Like many Callaway fairway woods, the XR Speed is very forgiving, easy to launch and look fantastic. I have used the Callaway Big Bertha, Steelhead XR, Epic, Epic SZ and lately the Rogue fairway. Whilst they have all been excellent, the XR Speed seems to have the combination of best price/value/look/distance/forgiveness/sound. For out and out distance from the tee, the Rogue is probably further, but not by much! I will probably buy the 5 and 7 wood as well.
