Garmin Approach S42 GPS Golf Watch

So easy to set up and sync with your phone, and easy to use

Sent it back. Poor quality, very light, not the best screen or graphics. Ok, you could say you get what you pay for, but I'd pay a little more for a better-quality product.

I have upgraded to the S42 from the S10. The S42 is significantly better to use than the S10. While the S10 I had is still being used by one of my friends I have to say that I find the S42 easy to use and is more user friendly. When I first bought a watch I only wanted a simple watch but I find the additional features to be great on the S42 and the interface is a lot better. The one thing that lets both of them down is the charging interface. In this day and age a MagSafe type interface would be less prone to failure than the cable (I had to replace the cable when I had the S10 and it is still the thing that is most likely to fail).

The Garmin Watch has excellent options and is easy to download and use

A good product that works well with all other Garmin devices as well as iPad and phone. Does everything you want for golf. Be aware it doesn’t do heart rate.

Easy to use and navigate. Does what it says on the tin.

Had the approach 40 before this which had the heart rate on it - small point as this is still a great product - battery a lot better than previous watch and so far it ticks alll my boxes

A little bit slow to pick up the gps signal initially but once it’s picked it up, this watch is perfect. Really easy to use out on the course and saves getting your phone out your pocket every time you want to score! Companion app gives a little more info and stats compared to other free apps.

Fast charging and easy to use on the golf course. Distances compared to laser are pretty acurate. The advantage is on the occasional blind hole where there is no line of sight. The watch is smart to wear and when synced to your smart phone notifies you of emails, messages etc. Overall a great watch.

This is a piece of kit to replace a gps that I would attach to my bag. I was looking for something light and thinker to what was out there. Also I didn’t want to have to pay a annual subscription so I did my research and for the value of money I felt this was the best option for my needs. I would recommend this watch to anyone. As an extra you can use this watch when not playing, it acts as a normal watch plus can count your steps.

This is a very stylish sport watch with changeable dials and you hardly notice wearing it. Touchscreen works great and visibility is perfect. Menus will take a little to get used to and sometimes i struggle to find my way. Automatic shot tracking is so-so and you will likely have to adjust manually for unregistered or mistakenly added shots. Distances seem accurate, but has a slight lag, and my buddy tended to get quicker readings on his old S3. It is easy to navigate through the shot/obstacle/green views. All in all I am really happy with it.
