Maiden Major Wins this Weekend on the PGA and LPGA Tours
It was a weekend of firsts as majors hit both the PGA and LPGA tours last week. Check out the winners from the PGA Championship and the Ricoh Women’s British Open plus take a look at the gear that helped both achieve their maiden majors.

The action at Bultusrol Golf Club on Sunday was insane! As thunderstorms sidelined Saturday’s third round, players were forced to play 36 holes in one day. A set up that did little to deter Jimmy Walker from winning his first major title. The American’s calm and steady game was apparent throughout the weekend as Walker went wire-to-wire in New Jersey to beat World Number One Jason Day by just 1-stroke.

“For me, I feel like it was a matter of time,” Walker said after his win. “It was a long time coming, and this was a long day. But I’ll take it. It all ended well.”

Walker joins Danny Willett, Dustin Johnson and Henrik Stenson as 2016’s major winners. For the first time since 2011 all four are first-time major victors. Check out the gear that helped Walker secure his title on Sunday.

On the ladies’ side it was Ariya Jutanugarn who dazzled to win her maiden major at the Ricoh Women’s British Open. Securing a 3-stroke victory over Mo Martin and Mirim Lee. Both a personal and national triumph as Jutanugarn became the first major winner from Thailand.

“My mother cried at the end,” the 20-year-old told reporters afterwards. “She said 'thank you', and that made my day.” Adding, “I think this victory is really important for me and Thai golf. I hope I can inspire some players in Thailand.”

It’s amazing to think the complete turn-around Jutanugarn has had in the past year. In 2015 the Thai golfer missed 10 consecutive cuts and at this year’s ANA Inspiration she suffered a total collapse losing her chance at major success as Lydia Ko won the title. Now she is a major winner with four wins this season.

“I think everything in the past is good for me, because I learned a lot from that,” said Jutanugarn. “I know how to come back. I know how to be like patient. Feels like everybody going to have like bad times in their life and I think I have that already.”

Patience has definitely paid off for the young golfer who is now looking forward to representing her country at the Rio games later this month. Check out Jutanugarn’s bag below and note she did it all without a driver!
