The European Tour Reminds its Players about Manners on the Course

by Maura Hutchinson

Even the best players in the world hit an errant shot once in a while. On the European Tour it apparently happens quite a bit and players are forgetting to send out a polite warning.

Last week the European Tour sent out a memo reminding professional golfers to yell “fore” when a shot is in danger of hitting someone. It seems the reason for the reminder is more spectators are complaining with some even claiming for compensation over being hit without warning.

Members were also told they would face disciplinary action over their failure to comply. So will we be hearing a whole lot of “fore” in the coming months???
