Inbee Park Secures Women’s PGA Championship 3rd Time in a Row
South Korean golfer Inbee Park sailed to her sixth major victory, securing the Women’s PGA Championship title for the third straight year.

The incredible feat also moved the 26-year-old back up to number one in the world rankings.  With New Zealand’s Lydia Ko losing the top spot she’s held since February.

Park’s sensational sixth major win over the weekend more than proved she’s worthy of her superstar status.  As the golfer went bogey-free for 56 holes and surpassed her idol Se Ri Pak for the most majors won by a South Korean player.

“I never thought I would be able to win more majors than her [Pak] or more tournaments than her,” Park said after yesterday’s win.  “The accomplishments that she’s had, it was just nearly impossible to get, but I’m slowly getting there.  I’m just taking baby steps, but I have played well in majors and feel comfortable in them.”

The Srixon player now has 15 LPGA Tour titles to her name, 10 less than Pak.  But with her determination and impressive playing style it’s only a matter of time before she begins chipping away at that record too.

“I think I always dreamed myself being a part of history,” Park told reporters. “Leaving my name, even before I die — there is my name on this trophy.  There’s a name on the U.S. Open trophy.  There’s my name on great championships.  People remember me still.  I think it’s just great to do things like that.”
