Poulter Takes to Twitter over PGA Tour Shouters

Poulter Takes to Twitter over PGA Tour Shouters
Never one to shy away from controversy, England Ian’s Poulter took to his twitter account this week to air some of his personal Tour gripes and invited feedback from his followers to be passed straight to the powers that be at the PGA.

The “shouting” at crucial moments either before or just after a shot is a nuisance the professionals have been forced to deal with more and more.  And it’s not just an outburst of fan excitement over a great putt.  This new breed of “yeller” isn’t your average golf enthusiast.  They are attention seekers looking for their moment of notoriety, although it’s hard to understand why anyone would want to be known as the guy who shouted, “mashed potatoes” as Tiger Woods teed off last weekend!

But alas, some people find it entertaining to have their “pop” at the pros.  With Poulter citing this “wouldn't happen at Augusta, The Open, nor would it happen at Wimbledon,” before playfully (we hope) adding, “Tazer the thrushes,” how long will it be before the PGA decides to crack down on the few spoiling it for the masses?
