Tiger Woods Announces he has signed with TaylorMade Golf
Tiger Woods is ready to take on 2017. With a packed schedule for the upcoming season the former World Number 1 is determined to get back to business on the PGA Tour and announced today that TaylorMade will be the equipment he’ll be using from now on.

Woods tees off for the first time in 2017 at tomorrow’s Farmers Insurance Open. Hoping to start the year off with a good performance that proves he is truly ready to return to professional play. The 14-time major winner had been a free agent since Nike announced its exit from the golf equipment business in August but that’s all changed now with this morning’s announcement.

The exact details of the multi-year deal haven’t been disclosed but it is known that Woods will be playing with TaylorMade metalwoods, fairway woods, irons and wedges in the future.

In a statement from Woods he confirms his new equipment choices stating,

“In 2017, my new bag will include the full M family of metalwoods - Driver and Fairways. In fact, the new M2 3-Wood is unlike anything I’ve ever hit. It has the perfect shape and I told the guys during our first meeting that this is the farthest I’ve ever hit a fairway wood.

For irons and wedges, I’m going to work closely with the team at TaylorMade. For my irons, we will be developing a new custom set. Over the coming months, we will take you along the development journey, from the initial design concepts all the way through the process until they make it into my bag. Finally, the new MG Wedge is absolutely beautiful, and we're working to dial in the exact grind for me. There’s no doubt it’s fun to have some new weapons, and the confidence I have in my new TaylorMade equipment makes me excited for the season.”

TaylorMade’s CEO David Abeles confirms the brand’s excitement over welcoming the 79-time PGA Tour winner to the TaylorMade family.

“We are thrilled that Tiger has chosen to play TaylorMade. His impact on the game of golf is undeniable and we are honoured to have him part of our team,” said Abeles.

While he’ll no longer be playing with Nike clubs, Woods will still be sporting the brand’s apparel and shoes every tournament. He has also signed a deal to play with the Bridgestone B330-S golf ball and has announced he will be sticking with his Scotty Cameron putter.

Woods joins an already incredible line-up of TaylorMade staffers including World Number 1 Jason Day, U.S. Open winner Dustin Johnson and Olympic Gold Medalist Justin Rose. We can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store for Woods!
