A “special one” for Rahm
World number 11, Jon Rahm has secured his second Irish Open win in three years. Producing a brilliant final round 62, Rahm tied his lowest-ever European Tour round in County Clare.
The 24-year-old’s victory makes him the first player to win three Rolex Series events and moves him up to 15th in the Race to Dubai standings.
“I am very excited to win this tournament for a second time - it's a very special moment,” Rahm told reporters afterwards. Adding, “Hopefully I can keep my form going now and have the best Open I have ever played at Portrush. I have good memories of Portstewart, which is not far from Portrush, so hopefully I'll have a lot of support from the crowd again there."

A Memorable Win, with a Memorable Swing
Over on the PGA Tour, American Matthew Wolff insured his place on Tour by winning his first title, in just his third professional career start. Winning the 3M Open one-stroke ahead of compatriots Bryson DeChambeau and Collin Morikawa.
The 20-year-old is now eligible to play on the PGA Tour until 2021 and earns invites to both The Masters and the US PGA Championship next year.
“It’s a really special feeling,” Wolff told reporters afterwards. “I just proved to myself I can be out here.”
One noticeable aspect of Wolff’s game is his unique swing. While he may have been critiqued on it in the past, Sunday’s win proves the swing is working just fine for him.
