FinnCycle Electric Scooters – A Fun Solution to the Slow Play Debate?

One of the major things we hear when we talk about growing the game, is the amount of time it takes to complete a round. Slow play is an issue that affects every level of play, from the pros all the way down to the weekend warriors.

If you follow golf at all, you won’t have missed the slow play conversation that has been happening everywhere this week. At the centre of the pro debate, American golfer Bryson DeChambeau has come under fire after two incidents went viral from last week’s Northern Trust.

In one video, the Cobra player is seen taking more than two minutes to miss an 8-foot putt, while playing partners Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Thomas stand by idly watching. The response on social media was swift and mostly negative, with people lambasting the American for his slow play. The criticism was not taken lightly by DeChambeau who told reporters he felt “attacked.”

“When people start talking to me about slow play and how I’m killing the game, I’m doing this and that to the game, that is complete and utter you-know-what,” the 25-year-old said after his third round at Liberty National.

DeChambeau has gone on to unleash more of his frustrations this week at the BMW Championship, releasing a Snapchat video aimed at “all you haters.”

As the slow play debate wages on, we stumbled across something that might be the answer local golf clubs are looking for. Check out the latest trend for getting around the course – the FinnCycle Scooter.

FinnCycle is brought to you by Sun Mountain Sports, the same guys who developed those amazing stand bags with built-in legs. This incredible two wheel ride features an electric motor that’s capable of completing 36 holes! It’s lightweight, easy-to-use and super fun. The unique single-rider design allows you to go directly to your shot, instead of detouring to your cart mate’s, meaning you should be able to complete your rounds faster than ever before.

According to their website, players using the FinnCycle average about 7.5 minutes per hole. Your golf bag securely sits right onto the frame of the bike for simple and easy access. Featuring cutting edge technology and a range of sharp colourways, the FinnCycle is the ultimate in fun and function.

So could this be the answer we’re all hoping for? Something tells us the FinnCycle will be a bit polarising, sort of like DeChambeau…
