Already known as the #1 Putter on Tour, Odyssey Golf
is constantly looking for new and innovative ways to transform your putting experience. Developing technologies to further enhance your short game and creating different designs to complement an individual golfer’s needs.
For 2017 the brand is taking their design process to new heights, introducing groundbreaking technology in the latest O-Works Range
that Odyssey believes will redefine putting.
A New Way to Roll…
The biggest thing Odyssey wants you to know about its latest O-Works range is its Microhinge Technology. The revolutionary face insert promises to provide incredible gains in topspin and roll at impact, regardless of your stroke. Sean Toulon, General Manager of Odyssey Golf explains that professional golfers have taught themselves to produce a forward roll off the face when putting. This provides a smooth, ground-hugging and accurate roll towards the hole. But Toulon goes on to say that most amateurs produce a roll with backspin that causes skidding and can throw a putt off-line.
The Microhinge Face Insert is crafted from a stainless steel plate that is co-molded with a Thermoplastic Elastomer Feel Layer. This plate is then populated with microhinges, small hinges across the whole of the face that flex into the polymer at impact and rebound to create an immediate forward roll on the golf ball. The results, according to Odyssey are swift. Producing incredible gains in topspin and roll at impact, that the brand states is two-times as fast as its own Fusion RX Insert.
Redesigning and Merging Proven Technology…
When you’re known as the best, there’s only one entity that can push you to do better – you. Odyssey’s main focus in creating the latest O-Works line of putters has been to create a range that it better than anything they’ve done before. By utilising the technology they know works, the brand has taken the time to redesign certain key features they believe could be enhanced for the benefit of all golfers.
Re-engineered high contrast Versa Alignment Technology allows your eyes to focus on the linear designs to lock in proper face angle and alignment at address, all the way through your putting stroke. The new red highlight lines produce an additional aid to help ensure you’ve lined up exactly to your target. Beyond alignment, Tank Counterbalance Technology in the #1 Tank
and #7 Tank
help to provide more stability at impact therefore lending to a more consistent stroke.
Going with what they know works, the new range of Odyssey O-Works Putters have been created in 11 of the brand’s most Tour-proven designs. Besides the Tanks listed above you can also find the following in blades: #1
, #1 Wide
and mallets: #7
, V-Line Fang CH
The Pros have Already Taken Notice…
We aren’t the only ones excited about the new O-Works range. Some of the best golfers in the world are already putting Microhinge Technology to use in their game including World Number 2 Rory McIlroy and five-time major winner Phil Mickelson.
