After 180 professional starts Kevin Chappell has finally managed to secure his first PGA Tour win. Claiming victory at the Valero Texas Open and narrowly escaping the need for a playoff against Brooks Koepka with a birdie on the 18th. Finishing with an impressive 12-under 276 Chappell was visibly pumped after sinking the winning putt.
When asked how it felt to finally have a PGA Tour title under his belt, Chappell told reporters, “I’m just excited I don’t have to answer that question again, what do I have to do to win.”

Over on the European Tour it was Bernd Wiesberger’s time to shine at the Shenzhen International. The 31-year-old has been enjoying great form over the past few months with multiple top-10 finishes but until yesterday hadn’t managed a win since July 2015. The Austrian proved he was capable of sealing the deal after winning the 1st hole of a sudden death playoff against England’s Tommy Fleetwood to secure his fourth European Tour title.
“I’m feeling a bit relieved now I have to say,” Wiesberger told reporters afterwards. “I’ve had a stretch of really good events the last couple of months and it’s really nice to have a trophy again.”
Adding, “We have really good players out here, all up for it, playing well and throwing a lot at me. At the end of the day I’m just glad I got myself into the spot where I could play for the title.”
