Brandt Snedeker Pulls out of Australian PGA Championship

Brandt Snedeker has been forced to withdraw from this coming weekend’s Australian PGA Championship after injuring his knee during the HSBC Champions.

This morning PGA of Australia CEO, Brian Thorburn announced the American had not boarded his plane from Shanghai, meaning he would not be participating in the tournament.

“We would have liked Brandt obviously, that's why we invited him and why he was on his way,” said Thorburn.  “It's disappointing but it's one of those things that happen - withdrawals take place in many tournaments.”

Thorburn is confident the rest of the field more than makes up for Snedeker’s absence.

Saying, “We obviously would have liked him to have been here, but when you've got Adam Scott fronting the field it's still going to be an extremely successful championship, plus Rickie Fowler and let's not forget Marc Leishman and a host of other great players.”
