latest line of putters leans on a Callaway Golf Ball design, for game-changing results every golfer could benefit from. Read on to find out more about the new Triple Track Putters
A simple but critical idea
In February 2019, Callaway staffer Phil Mickelson won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am using the brand’s Triple Track alignment on his Chrome Soft X Ball.
Featuring three precisely placed red and blue lines, the technique was first used on the ERC Soft ball, released the same year. The concept was simple and taken from the same visual clues pilots use to land on aircraft carriers. Also known as vernier hyper acuity, the exact spacing and colour combination allows the brain to process and visualise alignment more accurately and consistently.
Odyssey engineers soon thought, why not use the same idea on a putter?
All about the aim
Odyssey has confirmed that most golfers, no matter how good you are, struggle with aim and lining up the ball. Triple Track alignment features a white background on the top of the putter head with a red line and two blue lines running parallel. The feature helps to improve a golfer’s ability to line up correctly and also improves the consistency of the impact location. Using a Triple Track Putter plus a Callaway ERC Soft Ball, featuring the same alignment technique, would then naturally make the process even easier.
“All you have to do is connect the lines from the putter to the lines on the golf ball, and you no longer have to worry about alignment. From there, all you have to worry about is speed,” Odyssey’s general manager, Sean Toulon told Golf Digest.
Sometimes everything just lines up
Odyssey knows when they’ve created something special. They also know when to keep technology that’s working for their customers. That’s why every Triple Track Putter comes with a Stroke Lab shaft, used by all of Odyssey’s top players. A new firmer Microhinge Star Insert helps to further enhance sound and feel at impact, whilst maintaining the same roll and reduced skid benefits of the original White Hot Microhinge insert.
