Within a matter of weeks
Tiger Woods has gone from being at the top of his game to barely visible at last week’s U.S. Open. He announced on Wednesday that he would be pulling out of next week’s AT&T National at Congressional in Bethesda, Maryland due to an elbow injury.
Woods was in visible pain throughout last weekend’s Open. Often seen shaking his left arm after shots. He refrained from addressing the issue then, leaving many to speculate what the injury was exactly.
“I was examined after I returned home from the US Open . . . and I have been advised to take a few weeks off, rest and undergo treatment,” the player said in a statement posted on his website. “I’ll be ready for the British Open, and I’m looking forward to playing at Muirfield.”
This marks the sixth straight year that Woods has been forced to pull out of a tournament due to injury. With four weeks to go until the start of the British Open, will the rest be enough to bring back the player we saw earlier in the season?
